百分比：常用percent/per cent（一樣的用法）和percentage

1）percent/percent需要與數字連用，如：six percent（6%）；或者：數字+percent of+東西

2）percentage不能直接跟在數詞后面，需要用the percentageof sth. is+數字

3）A make up/ comprise X percent of B. A占B的百分之幾

例1：車占費用的23%。

例2：食物和車是兩項最大的開銷。

The Food and cars made up the two biggest items of expenditure.

4）表示人的比例，幾分之一：one in 數字

例如：八分之一：one in eight，百分之一：one in a hundred

或者，one person in ten/one person out of ten 十分之一的人

例：十分之一的人反對計劃。

One person in ten is against the plan.

5）在中，什么占了多少：Out of/Of+數字+名詞，數字 are/is

例1：在一百個員工中，70個是研究生。

Out of/Of the 100 employers, seventy are postgraduates.

例2：在一百個員工中，半分之二十是博士。

Out of /Of the 100 employers, the percentage of doctors is 20.

6）下降了/上升了百分之幾：increased/dropped bypercent

例：60歲以上的人口上升了20%。

The people over sixty have increased by 20%.

7）下降了/上升了幾分之幾：gone up/declined by two thirds

例：糧食產量減少了五分之一。

The grain yield has declined by one fifth.
