How to make friends in college? One of the best ways is to get involved in extracurricular activities. As a matter of fact, getting involved in extracurricular activities is the most important thing to do in college. In my opinion, extracurricular activities are as important as academics. I tell parents, especially those who would prefer it if their children choose an academic career, and also students, that to have one organization or one activity to attend is as important as going to class.

Extracurricular activities help you connect with people, because what happens is that so many students get to this new world; they are surrounded by so many new people and need to make friends with the people around them. This is what extracurricular activities are: a doorway to help you to create a world.

Learning a foreign language has been a most trying experience for me, but one that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Not only did learning another language teach me the value of hard work, but it also gave me insights into another culture, and my mind was opened to new ways of seeing things. The most wonderful result of having learned a foreign language was that I could communicate with many more people than before. Talking with people is one of my favorite activities, so being able to speak a new language lets me meet new people, participate in conversations, and form new, unforgettable friendships. Now that I speak a foreign language, instead of staring into space when English is being spoken, I can participate and make friends.

英語翻譯的答題技巧

1、增詞

在段落翻譯時，為了能充分的表達中文的含義，漢譯英時有必要增加詞語來使英 文的表達更加順暢。例如：感冒可以通過人的手傳染。譯文為：Flu can be spread by hand contact.其中的 contact(接觸)就是根據譯文需要添加上的。

2、減詞

譯文的增詞、減詞都是為了更確切、更忠實地表達原文的含義和精神。例如“百姓出現做飯點火難現象。”中的“現象”一詞可以省略，只譯成“people do not even have matches to light their stoves.”就足以表達原 文中的信息。

3、詞類轉換

詞類變形和轉換，是英語語言的一個很重要的特點，特別是名詞、動詞、形容詞 這三種最主要的詞類，大部分可以直接轉換使用，或者稍加變化(前綴、后綴等)即可轉換為另一種詞類。例如：他的演講給我們的印象很深。譯文：His speech impressed us deeply.漢語句子中“印象”是名詞，英語句子中則換成了動詞。
